Come experience a variety of art materials with a fun, playful approach to creating! Each month we’ll create in different ways to help preschoolers explore art materials without worrying about making a cookie cutter copy of a “project”. This class is process based which means that the process of creating is more important than the outcome.
Class is set up in 3 stations: 2 make and takes and 1 just for play. In January we’ll be “squishing” a plate of paint to see what colors and shapes we’ll make with the process. If they want, they can add parts to make it a turtle. The second thing we’ll do is use a variety of found objects such as bottle caps, yarn, game pieces, bolts and more to make a silly face. This is a great way to see the “what if’s” in things! There will also be a third “play” station where they can explore materials without a take home project.
You must register and pay for the event to save a spot (no drop ins). Please purchase a ticket for every child participating. Drop in anytime during the open studio hours of 9:30-11 AM. Play time takes about 30 minutes. Parents are required to stay with their child at each station to help them explore.
